Why do my Cloud Forest shots look flat?
Everything I shoot inside Cloud Forest comes out grey and lifeless. Correct exposure, sharp, and completely boring. The waterfall is right there and somehow the photo has no depth at all. Is this a light problem or am I standing in the wrong place?

Handheld at Jewel — the spot page says the floors vibrate and it is not kidding
Went to shoot the Rain Vortex at the evening light show. The page says handheld works because the floors vibrate, and I did not really understand that until I put a tripod down and got worse results than holding the camera. For anyone else confused: a tripod on a floor that is moving just transmits the movement. Your hands actually damp it. Completely backwards from everywhere else and I wish I had understood it before carrying the tripod out there.

ND filter maths for Bedok Jetty sunrise — what am I doing wrong?
Trying to smooth the water at Bedok Jetty before sunrise and my numbers keep coming out wrong. With a 6-stop on at f/11 ISO 100 I metered 10s and the frame came out about two stops hot by the time the shutter closed. I think the problem is that it is getting brighter the whole time I am exposing, which never happens when I shoot sunsets. Do you just meter again between every frame, or is there a smarter way?

Spectra from Jubilee Bridge at 8pm — what settings are you running?
The spot page says to shoot the 8pm Spectra show from Jubilee Bridge and it is right, the curve of the bridge leads straight into it. What it does not tell you is that the show swings between very dark and very bright about every fifteen seconds. I have been bracketing and throwing most of it away. Is there a single setting that survives the whole show, or is this genuinely a bracket-and-pick situation?

Blue hour at Marina Barrage — how long do you actually get?
Went up Saturday and got maybe 18 usable minutes before the sky went flat black. The spot page says blue until 7:32pm and that matched almost exactly, but the first half was still too bright to balance against the CBD lights. For anyone shooting there: the window that actually works is roughly 7:15 to 7:32. Before that the sky wins, after that the buildings win. Wind was strong enough that I hung my bag off the centre column and still got movement at 4s. https://www.bestlight.sg/spots/marina-barrage-rooftop.webp
